A woman stood in the middle of Tehran’s iconic Enghelab (Revolution) Square without a hijab, holding the headscarf and a bunch of balloons, in what has become a growing protest movement against compulsory hijab-wearing in Iran. This video, shared via Twitter on Monday, Oct. 29 by Anousheh Lotfi, shows the woman holding a bunch of red, white and green balloons, which are the colors of the Iranian flag.

A man in uniform climbed up to the dome before leading the protester down according to other footages seen by Storyful.

Footage of another protester, who later came to be known as the “girl of Revolution Street,” went viral in December 2017 after she carried out a similar “silent” protest in the same vicinity in Tehran. KM
