EPD: 37,540 visitors to cemeteries in eastern Metro Manila

Even with the scorching heat, some 37, 540 visitors still remembered their departed at cemeteries in Marikina City and other nearby cities on Thursday noon, the Marikina Police and the Eastern Police District (EPD) said.

As of 12:10 p.m., more than 12,300 people visited the Loyola Memorial Park in Marikina. Meanwhile some 1,000 visitors entered the nearby Barangka Cemetery, 350 visited the Aglipay Cemetery, 180 entered the Holy Child Cemetery, and 350 visited the cemetery at the Our Lady of the Abandoned Church.

In Pasig City, 16,000 visited the different cemeteries in the city such as the Pasig Catholic Cemetery, Public Cemetery, Evergreen, Santolan Cemetery, and Sta. Clara de Montefalco columbary.

The EPD added that 4,330 also visited various burial sites in Mandaluyong, while there were 3,030 cemetery visitors in San Juan. /muf
