Undas 2018: Low turnout of visitors at Manila Memorial park

Authorities have recorded 16,576 visitors at the Manila Memorial Park in Sucat, Parañaque on Thursday morning, All Saints’ Day.

Police Chief Inspector Bendicto Balagtas told INQUIRER.net that they expect the peak of the crowd volume to hit at least 500, 000 on All Saints’ day.

“‘Yung pinaka-peak na estimate natin dito sa Manila Memorial Park is 500,000. Kung mapapansin niyo medyo smooth pa… pero expect natin hanggang mamayang hapon marami nang visitors,” Balagtas said.

He also noted that a total of 465 personnel composed of police, Army reservists, volunteers, medics and traffic enforcers have been deployed to man the cemetery.

As of 9 a.m., police said no firearms, bladed weapons, and alcoholic drinks have been confiscated from visitors.  /muf
