A fire broke out in a residential area in Sta. Mesa in Manila late Wednesday afternoon, authorities said.
Police Supt. Ruben Ramos of the Sta. Mesa Police Station-8 said the fire started at around 4:30 p.m. along Piña St. in Barangay 600, V. Mapa. in Sta Mesa, Manila.
The blaze was raised to third alarm.
The fire reportedly started from a house owned by a certain Louie Atienzo due to faulty wiring, Ramos said. However, the cause of the fire is still under investigation, he added.
Members of the Bureau of Fire Protection and the Manila Fire District declared the fire out at 5:46 p.m. /atm
