MPD: Over 46K visitors inside Metro Manila cemeteries as of 3 p.m.

As of 3 p.m. Wednesday, the Manila Police District (MPD) has monitored over 46,000 visitors to Metro Manila’s four cemeteries.

Data released by the MPD’s District Tactical Operations Center showed that a total of 46,170 visitors had visited the cemeteries around Metro Manila.

The Manila North Cemetery in Santa Cruz, Manila has the most number of visitors at 32,050. The Manila South Cemetery in Makati City followed with  7,200  visitors while the La Loma Cemetery has 6,700 visitors.

Meanwhile, about 220 have entered the Manila Chinese Cemetery located near the Manila North Cemetery.

Police authorities have also confiscated a high number of banned items from visitors. Including 54 flammable items, 52 packs of cigarettes, 15 bladed objects, four speakers, and three gardening tools at the Manila North Cemetery.

At the Manila South Cemetery, 181 flammable items, 58 gardening tools, 38 bladed objects, and 109 other items were confiscated during the day.

Initial inspection of authorities also led to the confiscation of 37 cans of paints from visitors to the La Loma Cemetery.
