Police accosted a man who was found in possession of 16 live bullets in Araneta Center Bus Terminal in Cubao, Quezon City on Wednesday.

Police identified the suspect as Bryan Bagasala, 35. He was supposed to travel to Bato, Camarines Sur in time for “Undas,” and his bag was undergoing inspection at the terminal entrance when apprehended by authorities.

During inspection, a security guard discovered from among the suspect’s belongings the 16 live bullets, which Bagasala claimed he merely found and picked up in Barangay Sampaloc in Tanay, Rizal while on his way to the terminal.

National Capital Region Police Office Director Chief Supt. Guillermo Eleazar said they will investigate if Bagasala’s claim is true. He also said the suspect could be charged with illegal possession of ammunition.

“Iimbestigahan natin, kasi madali naman magsabi ng mga rason kung bakit niya nakuha iyan (We will investigate it because it’s easy to give reasons why he had those bullets),” he told reporters.

Bagasala’s plan to go to Bicol is apparently cancelled since he is now detained at the Quezon City Police District Station 7 in Cubao. /kga
