Cabbie collared for allegedly raping 10-yr-old stepdaughter

A taxi driver accused of raping his 10-year old stepdaughter several times was arrested by operatives of San Juan City Police on Tuesday evening.

Reports from the Eastern Police District (EPD) said the 32- year old suspect was nabbed after his live-in partner asked authorities for help upon learning her daughter was repeatedly abused.

Initial investigation by San Juan’s Women and Children Protection Desk showed that according to the victim, the incidents occurred whenever her mother was away from home.

She said that the first instance her stepfather abused her was around noon of October 25. She added that the suspect asked her to remain silent about what happened.

The mother learned of the abuse when her daughter got the courage to tell all.

Currently detained at the San Juan City Police Station’s custodial facility, the suspect is awaiting charges for violating R.A. 8353 or the Anti-Rape Law, in relation to R.A. 7610 or the Anti-Child Abuse Law./ac
