Severe tropical storm “Rosita” has weakened further as it moves away from the country, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said on Wednesday.
Pagasa said that as of 10 a.m., Rosita is packing maximum sustained winds of 90 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 115 kph.
“Rosita” was last spotted 265 kilometers west of Sinait, Ilocos Sur, moving north northwest direction at a speed of 15 kph.
“Rosita” is expected to leave the Philippine area of responsibility by Wednesday afternoon.
Pagasa however added that the western section of northern and central Luzon will still experience light to moderate rains.
Fishing vessels and small seacraft over the seaboards of Northern Luzon and the western seaboards of Central and Southern Luzon are also advised not to venture out due to rough sea conditions. /muf
