TACLOBAN CITY – More than 1,600 policemen have been deployed to the different cemeteries in Eastern Visayas to ensure a peaceful observance of All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day.
Aside from the 1,692 police personnel, 2,418 force multipliers would be assigned in other public places like terminals, churches, and roads leading to the cemeteries, Chief Supt. Dionardo Carlos, police regional director said.
He said the massive deployment of police force in cemeteries in Leyte, Southern Leyte, Biliran, Samar, Northern Samar, and Eastern Samar would help ensure that the Nov. 1 and Nov. 2events would be peaceful.
“We hope we’ll enjoy a peaceful commemoration of ‘Undas’ (in the region),” he said.
Carlos also reminded those going to the cemeteries not to bring any deadly weapon since police desks would be set up in these areas.
Bringing intoxicating liquor and playing loud music inside the cemeteries are prohibited.
