Man dies from electrocution as ‘Rosita’ batters Tarlac
A man was killed after he was electrocuted when he tried to help a rider who fell off his motorcycle during the onslaught of Typhoon “Rosita” early Tuesday in Tarlac.
In an interview with DZMM, Engr. Genesis Santiago, head of the of the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) said the accident happened at around 5 a.m. along a provincial road in San Clemente, Tarlac.
The victim who was a resident of the area, tried to help the motorcycle rider who fell from his bike after he was electrocuted.
Santiago said the rider was driving through fallen cables from an electric post which was toppled over by the typhoon’s winds.
“Meron pong natumbang poste, and then yung isa pong naka-motor dadaan siya don, pinilit niyang dumaan kaya nakuryente po siya, nasagi po niya yung kable,” he said.
“Tapos ito pong casualty natin, tutulungan po sana yung victim, ang kaso po nadamay po siya sa kuyente. So siya po yung namatay ngayon,” he added.
