6 dead in Iligan City fire

ILIGAN CITY – A mother and five of her children died in an early dawn fire that razed three residential houses and an apartment at Purok 4 in the coastal village of Maria Cristina here on Tuesday.

Lilibeth Barricuatro and five of her male children were trapped inside a comfort room after a fire broke out at past 3 a.m. here, Barricuatro’s relative Ricky Dampug said.


Dampug said Barricuatro’s husband was in Manila about to leave the country to work overseas. The Bureau of Fire Protection was still conducting an investigation. RICHEL UMEL
