Weakened ‘Rosita’ heads to Ifugao

After making landfall in Isabela early Tuesday, Typhoon “Rosita” (international name Yutu) headed to Ifugao province.

Storm Signal No. 3 remains over Isabela, Quirino, Northern Aurora, Nueva Vizcaya, Ifugao, Benguet, La Union, Ilocos Sur, Mountain Province, and Pangasinan, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

Signal No. 2 is hoisted over Cagayan, Ilocos Norte, Apayao, Abra, Kalinga, Tarlac, Nueva Ecija, Northern Quezon including Polillo Island, Southern Aurora, Zambales, Pampanga and Bulacan.

Meanwhile, Signal No. 1 is in place over the Babuyan Group of Islands, Rizal, Metro Manila, Laguna, Batangas, Bataan and Cavite.

Moderate to heavy rains will continue over Northern and Central Luzon within the day, Pagasa said.

“Rosita” was last spotted in the vicinity of Echague, Isabela, with maximum sustained winds of up to 140 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gusts of up to 230 kph.

It also accelerated westward at 25 kph.  /muf
