Malacañang has called on the public, especially those who will be directly affected by the onslaught of Typhoon “Rosita,” to stay vigilant and coordinate with their local disaster management offices.
“We ask our people, especially residents who will be affected by the typhoon, to stay vigilant, check the latest weather advisory in their respective areas via government social media accounts and coordinate with their local disaster and risk reduction management offices for appropriate and responsive action,” Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo said in a statement on Monday night.
Rosita made landfall over the town of Dinapigue in Isabela province at 4 a.m., Tuesday morning.
The weather bureau said the typhoon was likely to exit the Philippine area of responsibility by Wednesday evening.
Panelo said President Duterte was closely monitoring the areas that would be directly hit by the typhoon.
He added that the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) had stockpiles and standby funds amounting to P1,383,632,340.48 as of October 29. /cbb
