2 students hurt in Maguindanao grenade attack
SULTAN KUDARAT, Maguindanao – Two teenage students were critically hurt in a grenade attack on Sunday night along the national highway in Barangay Rebuken here, police said.
Senior Supt. Madzgani Mukaram, Maguindanao police provincial director, said the attack happened at past 10 p.m. on Sunday after two men on a motorbike riding in tandem passed by and lobbed a fragmentation grenade at a roadside furniture shop.
Mukaram identified the victims as Mohamad Murod, 19; and a certain Sulayman, 16, both students, and who both live in Barangay Rebuken.
Mukaram said the victims were standing beside the furniture shop, waiting for the rain to stop when attacked.
Neighbors and responding police rushed the victims to Cotabato Regional and Medical Center.
