Concrete mixer falls off Benguet road, 1 dead

BAGUIO CITY — A teenage laborer was killed when a truck carrying a concrete mixer fell into a 100 meter-deep ravine at 7:20 p.m. in Kapangan town at Benguet province on Sunday (Oct. 28), the Cordillera police said.

The driver, Dolphy Dasolas, was speeding up the Salat-Sagubo Provincial Road along Barangay (village) Sagubo when he lost control of the vehicle and drove off the mountain road.

Vilmer Ventura, 16, was declared dead on arrival due to multiple head injuries at the Kapangan District Hospital where Disolas and a third passenger, Abel Binaliw, 29, are being treated. Valerie Damian/lb
