People have started traveling to the provinces on Monday, at least three days ahead of the observance of All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day to avoid massive crowds and last-minute trips.
While the situation is still manageable, authorities deployed to the bus terminal in Cubao, Quezon City said that the number of passengers has increased from last week.
More travelers are expected to flock to the bus terminals in the coming days, as it has been a tradition for Filipinos to pay respects to their dead relatives during the first two days of November.
During an earlier surprise inspection and drug testing at four major stations in Cubao, Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) Chair Martin Delgra III said they have granted more than 800 special trip permits to accommodate people traveling from Metro Manila to different provinces. /ee
