Duterte: Spit on my face if I have hidden wealth

President Rodrigo Duterte on Saturday night dared his critics to spit on his face if they could prove the allegations of hidden wealth being hurled against him.

In a speech at the MassKara Festival in Bacolod City, the President maintained that his salary as Chief Executive was his only source of income, and that people could even verify the funds in his bank account.

‘It’s all I get’

“My salary is P207,000. The others there earn millions. I only earn that. Even if you unearth it all, that’s all I get and it’s deposited in Landbank,” he said.

He added: “If you see anything which is contrary to what I am saying now, I’ll give you that right. You can spit on my face. That is my guarantee. You can insult me.”

Earlier, Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV, one of the President’s most vocal critics, accused the Chief Executive of allegedly hiding billions of pesos in ill-gotten wealth in his bank accounts.

Plunder complaint

A plunder complaint has been filed against the President before the Office of the Ombudsman but the investigation was terminated in 2017.

While the President dared his critics to spit on his face, he would deal differently with beautiful and ugly women criticizing his administration.

“If you are a beautiful woman and you spit on me, I will get your saliva and place it… The women will get mad again,” he said in jest, to the chuckles of the crowd.

Offhand comments

True to his nature of making offhand comments, he added: “If the woman kisses me, I’ll get her spit and say, ‘I’ll return your spit to you and add my own because you’re beautiful.’”

However, the President had nothing but insults for ugly women criticizing him for his misogynist behavior.

“Those women say, ‘Duterte is anti.’ You don’t know the truth, you’re crazy and ugly and you have big teeth. I won’t kiss you,” the President said.
