DID YOU KNOW: 1,047 new HIV cases recorded in August 2018

In August 2018, there were 1,047 new human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) cases recorded nationwide, according to the Department of Health.

The figure was slightly lower compared to the 1,104 cases recorded during the same period last year.

Of the 1,047 new cases, 159 deaths were reported. —Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
