Oct. 28: La Union Surfing Break

An annual surfing and music festival in San Juan, La Union province, launched in 2006.

This year’s theme is, “Hit the wave in 1950s fashion.”

The event, which received the Department of Tourism’s Hall of Fame award, aims to educate Filipinos on surfing and to promote La Union as a premier surfing destination in Luzon.

Oct. 28 to Nov. 2: Semana Ti Ar-Aria

The weeklong halloween festival turns the city of Laoag in Ilocos Norte province into a “ghost town.”

The event showcases the province’s unique practices in remembering the dead.

There will be a short horror film festival on Oct. 26 to 31.

This year’s festivities will culminate with Para Iloca-Ilocana horror parade.

Nov. 3 to 5: Pintaflores Festival

The three-day festival at San Carlos City in Negros Occidental province ends with a street dancing competition featuring participants clad in colorful and ethnic-inspired costumes.
