Possible issuance of typhoon signals may be raised on Sunday evening over eastern section of northern and central luzon. A typhoon signal may also be raised over Metro Manila on Monday morning.
Despite this, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) noted that “Rosita” slightly weakened as it continues to traverse through the northern part of the country.
“Rosita” is packing maximum sustained winds of 180 kilometers per hour (kph) and gustiness of up to 220 kph. It is moving in a west-northwest direction with a speed of 20 kph.
Pagasa said that the eye of “Rosita” was last spotted at 1,345 kms East of Aparri, Cagayan.
It is forecasted to affect the northern Luzon and the eastern section of Central Luzon between Tuesday and Wednesday.
With this, Pagasa said that sea travel is risky over the Northern and Eastern seaboards of Luzon and the seaboard located in Samar. /jpv
