CABATUAN, Isabela — An 18-year-old student was stabbed dead early Friday morning by a man who chased after the young man and a companion in Barangay (village) Calaocan here, police said.
Mike Raven Abad and the unnamed companion allegedly ignored the suspect, Sherwin Rivera, a 36-year-old jobless man, who tried to flag down their tricycle in Barangay Nueva Era, said Isabela police director Sr. Supt. Mariano Rodriguez.
Rivera drove after them in a motorcycle, intercepted the tricycle and stabbed Abad three times in the chest without any provocation, investigators said.
Abad was declared dead on arrival at the Cabatuan Family Clinic and Hospital.
Police arrested Rivera, but have not released any information as to why the suspect attacked Abad, as of this posting.
The police said they confiscated two sachets of what could be shabu (crystal meth) from the suspect. /kga
