CABATUAN, Isabela — An 18-year-old student was stabbed dead early Friday morning by a man who chased after the young man and a companion in Barangay (village) Calaocan here, police said.

Mike Raven Abad and the unnamed companion allegedly ignored the suspect, Sherwin Rivera, a 36-year-old jobless man, who tried to flag down their tricycle in Barangay Nueva Era, said Isabela police director Sr. Supt. Mariano Rodriguez.

Rivera drove after them in a motorcycle, intercepted the tricycle and stabbed Abad three times in the chest without any provocation, investigators said.
