The Department of Transportation (DOTr) is set to launch the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX), which was dubbed as the first “landport” in the country.

The PITX is the first integrated and multi-modal terminal in Metro Manila, which will serve as a transfer point between provincial buses from Cavite, Batangas, and other modes of transportation in the cities.

“Handa na kaming buksan ang kauna-unahan nating landport. Isa itong terminal kung saan parang airport ang facilities at serbisyo,” DOTr Secretary Arthur Tugade said in a statement Thursday.

The landport located along the Coastal Road is expected to reduce the number of provincial buses in Metro Manila, specifically along Taft Avenue-Pasay in EDSA by November 5.

President Rodrigo Duterte is expected to lead the inauguration of the terminal. He will be joined by the administration’s economic and infrastructure chiefs and other officials from the government and the private sector. /cbb
