Guban to stay at Senate for now, says SOJ Guevarra

Bureau of Customs (BoC) Intelligence Officer Jimmy Guban will stay in the Senate’s custody for now, Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra said Thursday.

Guban has been detained at the Senate since September for allegedly lying under oath during its investigation on the more than P6-billion smuggling of shabu into the country.

President Rodrigo Duterte has ordered the police to arrest Guban and put him under the custody of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).

Guevarra said he will still have to read the report of Senator Richard Gordon’s committee on the matter.

“Let me read the Senate report. Doon muna siya for now (He will stay there for now),” he said. /je
