The Philippine National Police (PNP) seeks the custody of former Bureau of Customs (BOC) executive Jimmy Guban in compliance with the order of President Rodrigo Duterte to arrest him.
Duterte on Wednesday ordered the arrest of Guban, who is one of the Customs officials linked to the P6.8-billion worth of illegal drugs smuggled into the country on August 9.

“In compliance to the order of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, Philippine National Police Chief Director General Oscar Albayalde immediately coordinated with the Senate through Senator Richard Gordon to seek custody of ex-Bureau of Customs executive Jimmy Guban,” the PNP said in a statement.
The PNP said Gordon will consider Albayalde’s request pending submission of the report of the Blue Ribbon Committee, which he chairs.
Albayalde also ordered Police Director Roel Obusan, Director of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, to personally coordinate with Gordon on Guban’s case. /ee
