Manila International Airport Authority (Miaa) General Manager Ed Monreal has appealed to the Bureau of Immigration (BI) to make sure all booths at ports nationwide are manned this holiday season, especially during peak hours.
Monreal said they expect volume of passengers flying to and from the country to increase in the coming days.
“Pakiusap sa Immigration, ‘pag peak hour, puno po dapat ang booth para ang isip ng pasahero ay mahaba ang pila because of the volume,” MIAA General Manager Ed Monreal said in a press conference.
“‘Pag peak hour, kailangan punuin talaga ang mga booth. ‘Pag hindi ho peak hours… pwede ho bawasan,” he added.
Monreal also appealed to passengers to be more patient since influx of holiday travelers are expected during this period.
“Kaunting pasensya ‘pagka mahaba ang pila, basta puno po ang booth ng Immigration,” he said.
So far, Monreal said the BI has already deployed an additional 100 personnel for the Undas break and Christmas season. /kga
