President Rodrigo Duterte canceled Tuesday his visit to the wake of the nine sugarcane farmers murdered by unidentified armed men in a plantation in Sagay City, Negros Occidental.
Duterte was scheduled to visit the farmers’ wake at 12:30 p.m. before proceeding to Naga City in Camarines Sur to visit the wounded and killed policemen there.

But an updated advisory from Malacañang’s Media Accreditation Relations Office (Maro) said Duterte would first visit Naga City and head to Sagay City.
However, an advisory from Maro sent to reporters at 7:00 p.m. said Duterte’s visit was canceled.
“Due to inclement weather, [Duterte’s] visit in Sagay will not push through, thank you,” the advisory read.
Malacañang has yet to provide details if the President’s visit would be rescheduled. /ee
