ZAMBOANGA CITY – A policeman was shot dead in Isabela City shortly before twelve noon on Tuesday.

Police Senior Inspector Arnold Espares, the chief investigation section of Isabela City Police Office, said Police Officer 3 Jayton Masong Lagdameo was driving a motorbike around 11:45 am, October 23, when unidentified gunmen aboard a black Honda XRM, shot him as he reached Purok 4, Barangay Menzi in that city.

Lagdameo is the second policeman slain in Isabela City since April this year after Police Senior Inspector Aristedes Marinda, a Metro Manila cop reassigned to Basilan early in 2017, was killed on April 4 while going for an early morning jog at Rizal Avenue, Barangay Aguada in Isabela City.

Espares said the motorcycle-riding criminals who shot Lagdameo were wearing jacket and caps shot. Police recovered from the crime scene a caliber .45 cartridge, Espares said.

No motive has been established yet on Lagdameo’s killing.
