Magnitude 2.9 quake hits La Union

A magnitude 2.9 earthquake hit La Union on Tuesday morning, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported.

A Phivolcs initial report showed that the quake hit 13 kilometers (km) northwest of Luna, La Union, at 8:43 a.m.

The earthquake was of tectonic origin had a depth of 5 km.

Phivolcs said no aftershocks or damage could be expected from the tremblor.  /muf
