UST grad tops CPA board exams

A total of 3,616 out of 14,358 examinees passed the Certified Public Accountant board exams, the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced early Tuesday.

The PRC said that the overall passing rate for the October 2018 board examinations was 25.18 percent.

Lahaira Amy Reyes from the University of Santo Tomas topped the exam after obtaining a percentage rating of 91.83.

Reyes was followed by Erick Jan Sagot, a graduate of the Ateneo de Davao University with a percentage score of 91.17

Patrisha Nahveline Cordero from Holy Angel University placed third with a percentage rating of 90.67.

The University of the Philippines in Diliman emerged as the top performing school with 69 examinees out of 73 passing the board exam.

It was followed by the De La Salle University in Manila with 66 out of 76 examiners passed.

The results were released six workings days after the last day of the examination.

The board exam was administered by the PRC Board of Accountancy and its members in the cities of Manila, Baguio, Cagayan De Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi, Lucena, Tacloban and Tuguegarao. /cbb
