Nueva Ecija town council candidate gunned down

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO—A candidate for councilor of San Antonio town in Nueva Ecija was shot dead near his house on Friday afternoon (Oct. 19), police said on Saturday (Oct. 20).

Chief Supt. Amador Corpus, Central Luzon police chief said victim Allan Joson was shot dead by the still unidentified assassin in Barangay (village) Julo.

Corpus said the gunman fled aboard motorcycle following the shooting.

Corpus did not say if politics was behind Joson’s murder.  /muf
