Two persons were hurt as 150 families were affected by a fire that razed a residential area in Tondo, Manila on Friday, the Manila Fire District (MFD) reported.
Senior Fire Officer I Joshua Galura said 50 houses in Happyland Tondo were destroyed after fire broke out around 11:59 a.m. in one of the houses. The blaze quickly spread, reaching second alarm less than five minutes later, as structures in the area were mainly made of light materials.
The MFD said the fire was declared under control around 1:28 p.m., and totally put out around 2:44 p.m.
Damage to properties due to the fire was estimated to have reached around P100,000.
As of this posting, the names of the two individuals injured from the incident is still unavailable as the cause of the fire is still under investigation, according to authorities. /kga
