Two suspected robbers were killed in a shootout with members of the Novaliches Police Station in Quezon City on Friday.
Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Director Chief Supt. Joselito Esquivel said the slain suspects have yet to be identified but both have tattoos and were believed to be in their 30s.
A QCPD report showed that policemen were conducting anti-criminality patrol around 1:35 a.m. when a concerned citizen reported to them about two men aboard separate motorcycles suspiciously lurking along Midway Street in Barangay Gulod in Novaliches Foresthills.
Police rushed to the area to verify the report but were met with gunfire from the suspects. A brief firefight ensued with police eventually killing the two men on the spot.
Authorities recovered from the suspects a .38 caliber revolver, three spent shells, a .45 caliber pistol, and four cartridge cases as well as two motorcycles, two sling bags with several motorcycle plates, documents and mechanical tools, and two sachets of suspected “shabu.” /kga
