DRUG  BUY-BUST

POLICE arrested two siblings in a drug buy-bust operation in barangay Lower Busay, Cebu City on Saturday afternoon.

Evelyn Borres Arda, 56, and Quirico Borres Jr. 46, yielded at least 35 packs of suspected shabu when they were arrested by  the Multi-Agency Anti-illegal Drugs Task Force, said police.

Police said the siblings had a restaurant which they used as a front for their illegal activities.

Police said the siblings owned a drug den located at the back of the restaurant.

Arda’s son is detained at the New Bilibid Prison for drug charges, said police.

In a separate buy-bust operation, police arrested a woman for selling marijuana in barangay Tabunan, Cebu City.

Police said five kilos of dried marijuana leaves worth  at least P250,000 was recovered from Mylen Baricuatro, a 30-year-old resident of barangay Magsaysay, Balamban town./CHITO O. ARAGON

CABBIE SHOT DEAD

THE remains of a taxi driver was found in a vacant subdivision lot in Soong II, barangay Mactan, Lapu-Lapu City last Saturday morning.

Biltran Sterling, a resident of barangay San Roque, Talisay City, was found with a gunshot wound in the head.

PO2 Carlos Barluado, homicide investigator  of the Lapu-Lapu City Police Office (LLCPO), said they never thought the victim was a taxi driver since he looked like a foreigner.

Police said the victim’s hands were tied with a shoe lace. His gold tooth and wallet were missing when he was found at 6 a.m.

Management of Tiger taxi reported to the Lapu-Lapu police the victim’s disappearance.
