Roxas’ return to politics elates Robredo
Vice President Leni Robredo was ecstatic with the political comeback of Mar Roxas, her running mate in the 2016 elections.
Roxas, the Liberal Party’s standard bearer during the 2016 presidential elections, ended his two years of political hibernation after he filed his certificate of candidacy (COC) to run for senator in the 2019 midterm polls.
“Masaya ako na ang aking partner nung 2016 @MARoxas ay babalik sa serbisyong bayan,” Robredo said in a tweet on Tuesday.
“Malaking sakripisyo ito para sa kanya pero patunay na dahil sa pagmamahal sa bayan, handa pa rin siyang maglingkod at lumaban, sa kabila nang lahat,” she added.

Roxas served as senator from 2004 to 2010 before he got defeated by then Makati City Mayor Jejomar Binay in the 2010 vice presidential derby.
He shied away from the political limelight after he lost to then Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte in the 2016 presidential race. /kga
