Makati Regional Trial Court Branch 148 Judge Andres Soriano is already on the last stage of writing the decision on the government’s motion seeking the arrest of Senator Antonio Trillanes IV for coup d’état, Makati Chief of Police Senior Superintendent Rogelio Simon told reporters.

“He personally told me today na today (Thursday) walang lalabas,” Simon said after talking to Soriano.

Simon said the Judge told him that “he is on the last stage of his work.”

He said Soriano promised him that he will be informed two to three hours prior to the release of a decision.

“The two to three hour coordination is for the preparation of everything kasi magmo mobilize tayo ng tao. Alam naman natin na lahat ng resources natin nakadeploy para sa safety ng ating mamamayan,” he said.

(The two to three hour coordination is for the preparation of everything because we have to mobilize our police personnel. We all know that all our resources are being deployed to ensure the public’s safety.)

The government’s motion sought the issuance of an arrest warrant against the Senator and placing him under the Immigration’s hold departure order. The Department of Justice (DOJ) also sought the reopening of the case which was already dismissed in 2011 following the grant of amnesty.

After the reception of evidence and other necessary pleadings, the case has been submitted for resolution.

Simon said Soriano skipped the judge’s convention in Tagaytay to finish his ruling on the Trillanes’ case. /je
