LTFRB approves P1 fare hike on bus

The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) approved on Thursday a provisional P1 fare increase for public utility buses in Metro Manila.

The hike raises to P11 the minimum fare for ordinary buses from the original P10 and P13 for air-conditioned buses from the original P12.

At the same time, the board approved to “provisionally adjust” the per-kilometer charge for provincial buses.

Consequently, the LTFRB allowed a 15-centavo-per-kilometer raise for both ordinary and air-con units.

The decision was signed by LTFRB chair Martin Delgra and board members Aileen Lizada and Ronaldo Corpus. /cbb
