The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) advised the media to depend on the official document about the jeepney fare hike, which has yet to be released, noting that a document on the issue was leaked on Wednesday.

“We regret that a document was leaked even before it was certified as official,” the LTFRB said in a text message to reporters. “Please be informed that the LTFRB will release an official copy once the document is signed by the LTFRB Executive Director and is marked as docketed.”

“We would like to request our friends from the media to rely on information released through the Office of the LTFRB Chairman, or through official communications platforms of the LTFRB to prevent confusion,” the LTFRB added.

The LTFRB told jeepney drivers to wait for the signed document before implementing the additional fare.

“We request drivers to wait until the LTFRB releases the official document on the fare hike before charging any additional fare. Thank you for understanding,” it said.

Goddes Libiran, LTFRB communications director, said the document could still be edited unless it was docketed and signed by the LTFRB executive director.

“Once the document is docketed, it means yun na ang official decision,” Libiran said in a text message to INQUIRER.net. “Any change should be subjected to another deliberation. Kapag hindi pa docketed, pwede pang ma-edit internally as long as mag-agree yung members ng board.”

Earlier, reports circulated that an additional P2 for the minimum jeepney fare hike would be imposed in Metro Manila, Central Luzon (Region 3), and Southern Tagalog (Region 4-A). /atm
