LEGAZPI CITY – Nominees of partylist Ako Bicol (AKB) filed their Certificates of Candidacy at the Commission on Elections on Wednesday morning.
AKB Representative Alfredo Garbin, said he and lawyers Justine Batocabe and Bobby Ang filed their COCs at the Comelec office in Manila.
Batocabe, 30, is the eldest son of AKB Rep. Rodel Batocabe who is on his last term.
Ang would replace AKB Rep. Christopher Co who is also on his last term.
Albay first district Representative Edcel Lagman (LP) who is running for reelection is being challenged by Sto. Domingo town mayor Herbie Aguas (Nationalist People’s Coalition), who is on his last term.
Aguas filed his COC Wednesday morning at the Comelec provincial office.
Meanwhile, Albay Vice Gov. Harold Imperial (Liberal Party) filed his COC for governor, challenging Albay Gov. Al Francis Bichara who is seeking re-election for the second term.
A four-cornered fight would highlight the gubernatorial contest with Bichara (PDP-Laban) being challenged by Imperial; lawyer Zacarias Zaragoza, retired director of Comelec in Bicol and an independent candidate; and Gamal Arcilla a former military general.
