Cayetano says he is ‘honored’ to be replaced by Teddy Boy Locsin at DFA
Resigned Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Secretary Alan Peter Cayetano says he is honored to be replaced by his mentor, Teddy Locsin Jr.
Locsin earlier accepted the offer of President Rodrigo Duterte to become the country’s next Foreign Affairs Secretary.

“Usually ang estudyante pinapalitan yung teacher, eh si Teddy Boy Locsin, siya po ang teacher, siya po ang mentor, papalitan niya po yung estudyante, so isang karangalan sa akin at magandang choice,” Cayetano said in an ambush interview on Wednesday.
(Usually it is the student who replaces the teacher. Teddy Boy Locsin is the teacher. He is the mentor. He will replace the student. It is an honor for me. He is a good choice).
“Ang pangulo marunong talagang mamili ng mga cabinet members,” he added.

Locsin will replace Cayetano, who is seeking a seat in the House of Representatives in the 2019 elections. /muf
