Don’t say he didn’t warn you.

Harry Roque, the ex-presidential mouthpiece, swore to remain true to his former title as he warned senators criticizing the administration that he would more intensely defend President Rodrigo Duterte if he ever gets elected to the Senate.

After filing his candidacy for senator on Wednesday at the Commission on Elections (Comelec) main office in Intramuros, Roque reiterated his unwavering support to Duterte.

Roque will run for senator under the People’s Reform Party, founded by late Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago. He sees his election to the Senate as an opportunity to counter attack senators who are against Duterte.

According to Roque, Duterte is “the best President” given the present condition of the country.

Roque has always been drawing flaks as spokesperson of Duterte. But Roque has no regrets.

“I do not regret even for a single minute that I became a spokesperson. It was an honor to serve the President because by serving him, I serve the people,” he said. /kga
