It’s now official, incumbent Makati Mayor Abby Binay is running against her brother, Junjun, for Makati’s mayoral post in the 2019 elections after she filed her certificate of candidacy (COC) for reelection on Wednesday.

Binay, who was accompanied by her father former Vice President Jejomar Binay, will be running under the United Nationalist Alliance (UNA).

Former Makati mayor Junjun Binay filed his COC before the Commission on Elections (Comelec) Makati City office on Tuesday, a day before Abby had filed hers.

In an earlier interview, BInay said she has her father’s blessing to run for the post, noting that his father would not change his mind as he already signed the certificate of nomination and acceptance (Cona) under the United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) last Sept. 27.
