Former Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile – a ‘businesswoman’?
The 94-year-old politician misidentified himself as a woman in the form he filed to formalize his candidacy for senator in next year’s elections.
Enrile wrote “businesswoman” on the item, which asked for his profession. The item was placed below the name of his wife Cristina.

The information was corrected after more than an hour with few letters erased using a correction fluid to make it into “businessman.”
Enrile filed his certificate of candidacy through lawyer Joseph Sagandoy, who went to the Commission on Elections (Comelec) main office in Intramuros, Manila on Tuesday afternoon.
He said he wants “to join the fun” so he’s gunning for a Senate comeback in the 2019 midterm elections.
