6 drug suspects nabbed in QCPD buy-bust operations
Six drug suspects, including two with pending cases, were arrested on Tuesday morning after a buy-bust operation in Barangay Pasong Tamo, Quezon City.
Initial reports by the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) stated that authorities from the Novaliches Police Station caught suspects Serafin Soriano, 51; Brian Labrador, 39; Marjun Superales, 27; Charlie Memes, 42; Rene Abad, 22; and Jene Lano, 34; in the Servants of Charity Homeowners Association in Barangay Pasong Tamo.
After verification, police found that Soriano had a prior drug-related charge while Labrador had a previous case on vehicle theft. Both were also included in Pasong Tamo’s drug watchlist.
Eight sachets of shabu amounting to three grams, with a street value of P20,000 were seized from the suspects. The P500 marked money was also recovered along with two Yamaha Mio motorcycles, a Mitsubishi L300 van, three mobile phones, one small bag, and one small envelope.
Soriano and Labrador will face additional charges for violating Sections 5 and 11 of R.A. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, while the rest of the suspects will be charged for breaching Section 13 of the same law. /ee
