Former Quezon Rep. Erin Tañada is optimistic that majority of Liberal Party (LP) candidates will eventually land in the so-called Magic 12.
Tañada said Tuesday that despite the low ranking of LP bets in recent surveys, Vice President Leni Robredo advised them that majority of LP candidates have a chance.
Robredo is chairperson of the LP.
“I think there’s enough time. Sabi nga ni VP Leni, nung siya nga po nagsimula ng 1 percent, eh kayo nasa 35 percent na kayo, so may pag-asa,” Tañada said after he filed his candidacy for senator at the Commission on Elections main office in Intramuros.
Tañada is running for senator under the LP along with former Interior Secretary Mar Roxas and reelectionist Senator Bam Aquino, among others.
In order to raise the ranking of LP Senate bets in surveys, Tañada said they need to work hard to deliver their political message properly and more accurately to the masses, and reach out to more people.
“Talagang pupuntahan namin ang mga malalayong lugar,” Tañada said.
“Kung kailangan po naming matulog (doon sa lugar) para maintindihan po namin ang problema ng mamamayan, ay gagawin po namin,” he added. /kga
