DID YOU KNOW: October is National Statistics Month

October was declared National Statistics Month by virtue of Proclamation No. 647 signed on Sept. 20, 1990, by then President Cory Aquino.

According to the proclamation, statistics plays a crucial role in policy formation, planning and decision-making in both the government and the private sectors, and must be given the official recognition it deserves.

The Philippine Statistics Authority is tasked to lead the observation. —Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
