CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — Four suspects in the killing of former Councilor Mario De Ausen of Santa Rita town in Pampanga have been arrested.
Police identified the susepcts on Saturday, Oct. 13, as Gilbert Aurelio, Angelo Aurelio, Albert Abletes, and a man only by his alias “Boss.”
The were booked for the conspiring to murder de Ausen.
The suspects revealed the name of the man who ordered them to kill the former councilor and is currently the subject of a manhunt, a police source, who requested not to be identified, said.
De Ausen, 58, was in his car in front of his house gate in Barangay San Matias when he was shot three times by one of the suspects at 6:40 p.m. on Oct. 10.
A motorcycle-riding man picked up the gunman and they fled towards Guagua town.
The former councilor died in a hospital.
The suspects were later cornered in a warehouse reportedly owned by the mastermind.
They were allegedly paid P150,000 for the murder contract, the police source said. But investigators have not been able to establish why de Ausen was targeted.
Meanwhile, also on Saturday, in the neighboring town of Sasmuan, a large crowd marched to bury slain Councilor Jesus “Boyet” Angeles, who was stabbed and shot as he was taking early morning walk on Oct. 6.
The police have not yet identified his killers. Angeles was supposed to file his candidacy for vice mayor in the 2019 midterm elections. /atm
