Money lender shot dead in Quezon

LUCENA CITY – A woman, allegedly engaged in money lending, was shot and killed by a still unidentified gunman in Infanta town in Quezon province Friday night, police said.

Chief Insp. Lowell Atienza, Infanta police chief, said 55-year-old Dianina Coralde was shot in the head by the gunman while she was standing in front of a motorcycle shop in Barangay (village) Poblacion 39 around 6:30 p.m.

The suspect fled on foot after the shooting, police said.

Coralde, who is also manager of Diane Real Estate Brokerage, died on the spot, Atienza said.

Atienza said initial investigation showed that money could be the motive behind the killing. /muf
