Man killed in Vigan City shooting
DAGUPAN CITY — A 24-year-old man was shot dead in broad daylight while traversing a street aboard his motorcycle in Vigan City, police said Friday.
PO2 Henry Paz Verano, Vigan City police investigator, said Bon Bryan Carino Viray, a resident of Bantay town in Ilocos Sur province, was shot multiple times and died while being rushed to a hospital.
Viray’s backrider, Geraldine Molina Jimenez, 20, was wounded and is now at a hospital for treatment.
Viray and Jimenez were on the northbound lane of Quirino Boulevard in Barangay (village) 9 when unidentified gunmen attacked them around 1:15 p.m. Thursday.
Investigators have yet to establish why Viray was killed, but Verano said the fatality was in the Bantay drug watchlist and has pending cases for car theft and robbery. /kga
