‘I am very confident that I will win’ — Gadon

Controversial lawyer Larry Gadon is “very confident” that he will become a senator next year.
Moments after arriving at the main office of the Commission of Elections (Comelec) to file his certificate of candidacy (COC) on Friday, Gadon said: “Very confident ako na mananalo ako [I am very confident that I will win].”
If elected, Gadon said that he would not back down to his critics in the Liberal Party (LP) citing that he did not even turn his back on his fight against former chief justice Maria Lourdes Sereno
“Ang question doon ay kung paano nila ako ihahandle dahil di ko naman sila uurungan. chief justice nga hindi ko inurungan, sila pa?” Gadon said when asked how would he handle LP members that are part of the Senate.
(The question here is how they would handle me because I will not withdraw from them. I didn’t back down from the chief justice, what more against them?)
He also claimed that some “stupid senators” prompted him to run in the Senate.

Gadon said that the bills he would prioritize would focus on education, overseas Filipinos workers, and in solving the problem in the country’s economy particulary electricity.
“Yang inflation na yan, masosolve yan kapag sinolve mo yung power, kasi kaya mahal yung production of commodities because of high electricity rates,” Gadon said.
(The inflation, you can resolve that if you solve the problem in power, because the cost of production of commodities is high due to high electricity rates.)
It can be recalled that Gadon, who filed an impeachment complaint against now ousted Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno at the House of Representatives, got embroiled in a shouting match with supporters of Sereno in Baguio last April. He even flashed a “dirty finger” to the rallyists who booed him at the time.
Gadon said he will run for senator in the 2019 midterm elections under three political parties: Kilusang Bagong Lipunan, Lakas-CMD, and KBP. kga/ jpv
